Duties:
Workers must: - carry out their assigned client’s Individual Planned Program (IPP) as developed by the ARC Developmental Consultant, on a consistent basis - attend general training sessions as listed above - attend an individual training session with an ARC Developmental Consultant, prior to the start date of the program - report to the ARC Program Coordinator and Developmental Consultants - adhere to the ARC Confidentiality Contract - communicate daily with their assigned client’s parents/guardians via a communication book The Therapeutic Summer Programs run Monday - Friday from begining of July to mid August. The programs begin at 8:45 am and end at 3:00 pm each day. For information on each of the Therapeutic Summer Programs, click here.
Qualifications:
Applicants must: - enjoy working with people and be willing to learn new communication skills - be enthusiastic, energetic and have an outgoing personality. - be able to make a consistent commitment Monday - Friday for the entire length of program ( see dates above) - have knowledge of or interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder (experience working with special needs is preferred, but not essential) - be working towards or have completed a University degree or College diploma in a related field - a vehicle is an asset to this position. Third party liability insurance is required for workers who drive during the program. - have First Aid/CPR B Certification Salary: $12.75 - $13.25 to start. Staff who continue to be employed with ARC throughout the year receive quarterly increases in pay. Workers who drive during the program are reimbursed at $0.40 per kilometer.
