The Summer Program is the longest running ARC program, and for years, was the only one that was offered during the summer. The Summer Program is offered to children and youth,  ages eight to  sixteen and Senior Summer Program ages 17 and up with a diagnosis of Autism, ASD, and (lower-functioning) PDD-NOS. The program runs Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. There is a maximum of 20 participants/week in the Summer Program and a maximum of 5 in Senior Summer Program. There is a maximum of five weeks allowed per client.

The focus of the both programs is on developing new skills and maintaining already-learned skills throughout the summer months. Participants are paired with a one-to-one trained worker who implements the participant’s Individual Planned Program (IPP) throughout the course of each day. Areas that are focused on are life skills, vocational skills, communication skills, academics, and overall independence that is age appropriate. Tabletop teachings and the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) are also implemented with specific participants.

Participants take part in a variety of recreational activities throughout the day in order to practice the communication and social skills while having fun. Every afternoon they have swimming as an activity.
