This is an opportunity for the participant to gain knowledge and understanding in social etiquette, table manners, and spontaneous reciprocal conversation with others while enjoying a snack with their peers. Skill Of The Week
This is the time when a specific skill is introduced, taught and discussed. This is the main focus of the week’s lessons. Facilitators teach skills in a variety of ways including direct instruction, modeling, role-playing, social stories and comic strip conversations. Activity Book
Some groups offer the participants an activity book to take home so that parents and teachers understand the skills that were focused on in a particular week. The hope is that parents and/or teachers will continue to facilitate the participants learning in this area. It is an expectation that the participants complete this book before the start of the next group. Group Game |
