Adventure Camp- Ages 5 to 16

ARC offered Adventure Camp for the first time in 2003 to individuals ages six and up with a diagnosis of High-Functioning Autism, Asperger’s Disorder or (higher-functioning) PDD-NOS. The program runs Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. There is a maximum of 14 children per week in Adventure Camp. Participants can register for up to a maximum of 2 weeks in Adventure Camp.
The focus of Adventure Camp is on developing social skills and maintaining peer relationships. In order to facilitate this, the participant-to-staff ratio is 2:1. The trained worker assists the participants in social, play, and turn-taking situations. Participants take part in a “Skill of the Day”, as well as a variety of recreational activities.
